Everglades Airboat Tour Questions: Booking, Prices & Pickup

Private tours leave from our Miami dock. Daytime tours start at $250 for the first two guests. Here are the answers to the questions we hear most. We run outside Everglades National Park, along the Tamiami Trail, so your captain can legally get you closer to wildlife than park rules allow.

How much is a private Everglades airboat tour?

Daytime private tours are $250 for 1 hour, $350 for 1.5 hours, $450 for 2 hours, $550 for 2.5 hours and $650 for 3 hours, for the first two guests. How much is each extra guest, and do kids ride free?

Each guest after the first two is $60 on standard airboat tours, and kids 5 and under ride free. For example, a 1-hour daytime tour for four paying guests is $370 ($250 + $60 + $60). Frog and fish gigging use a $100 extra-guest rate instead. Free kids still take a seat on the boat, so tell us every child's age when you book.

Is the airboat private to our group?

Yes. Every tour is private: the boat and your captain are reserved for your party, and we never add other guests. Most of our boats hold 6–7 guests on purpose, because that size keeps the real airboat ride experience. We have many boats, so bigger groups simply ride on more than one. Where does the airboat tour leave from?

Standard airboat tours leave from our dock at 5334 FL-90, Miami, FL 33185. Please arrive about 15 minutes early; parking on site is free. Buggy tours, hunts and lobster trips may meet somewhere else, and we'll send those directions when you book. Are your tours inside Everglades National Park?

No. Our private airboat tours run outside Everglades National Park, on the Tamiami Trail side of the Everglades, from our dock at 5334 FL-90. Because we’re outside the park, your captain can legally take you closer to alligators, wading birds and other wildlife than park rules allow. We never feed, touch or chase the animals, and sightings depend on conditions.

How long are the tours, and which length should we pick?

Daytime tours run 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5 or 3 hours. Sunrise, sunset and night tours run 1.5, 2 or 3 hours. One hour is a good first taste if your day is packed. Do you offer sunrise, sunset and night tours?

Yes, and you pick the start time, because every tour is fully customizable. For sunrise, we recommend starting 30 minutes before sunrise. Sunset times shift with the season, and you can start before, during or after sunset and carry on into the night. All three cost $450 for 1.5 hours, $550 for 2 hours or $750 for 3 hours for the first two guests. See sunset tours and night tours.

What's the best time of day for an airboat tour?

Morning is usually best for wildlife, and sunset gives the best light for photos. Night tours are for the sounds and feel of the Everglades after dark. Tours can start at any time, so if seeing a particular animal matters most, tell us when you book and your captain will suggest a start time. Wildlife is wild, so no time of day can promise a sighting.

Is hotel or airport pickup included?

No, the tour price covers the boat ride only. Private transport is $400 round trip for up to 13 guests, with a minimum of 4 guests and a tour of 1.5 hours or longer. We pick up at MIA, FLL, hotels and the cruise ports (PortMiami and Port Everglades), and drop-off can be somewhere different. How do I book, and when is my tour confirmed?

Book online by picking your tour, date, time and any extra guests, then paying in full. Your tour is confirmed once payment goes through, and you'll receive a confirmation to keep. For custom trips, specialty outings or groups big enough to need more than one boat, call (305) 766-1929 and we'll set up the itinerary, price and payment with you.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancel 24 hours or more before your tour and you get a full refund. Full payment is required to book. Cancellations inside 24 hours are non-refundable, although we may make an exception. If we cancel because of weather, you get a full refund or can reschedule. Read the full terms →

What happens if it rains?

Tours run rain or shine, so a passing shower won't cancel your trip. If there's lightning or other unsafe weather, we'll reschedule you or give you a full refund. If the forecast worries you, call (305) 766-1929 with your booking name and tour time, and we'll tell you whether your tour is going ahead.

Will we see alligators?

We can't promise it, because the animals are wild, but alligators, herons, egrets and turtles all live along our routes, and your captain knows where to look. Sightings change with weather, water levels and season; in the wet season, roughly May to November, animals spread out more. Tell us if wildlife is your top priority and we'll suggest a start time.

Who leads the tour?

A USCG-licensed captain who is certified in CPR and first aid. Our captains are local Gladesmen, born and raised around the Everglades, including owner Captain Greg Mislow. What should we wear and bring?

Flip-flops are fine, and so is any comfortable pair of shoes; just dress for the weather. Bring sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat that stays on, and bug spray, especially for evening tours. Can we bring our own drinks?

Do you offer tours in Spanish?

Tours are led in English. If someone in your group needs Spanish, please bring your own translator, such as a bilingual friend or family member. A translator rides as a paying guest, so include them in your guest count when you book.
