Miami Airport to Everglades National Park

Miami International Airport (MIA) is the nearest major international airport to the Miami side of the Everglades. Our airboat dock at 5334 FL-90 (Tamiami Trail) is about 30–45 minutes west of MIA by car in normal traffic. Flying into FLL instead? See our private airboat tours from Fort Lauderdale.

To travel from Miami Airport to Everglades National Park, choose the park entrance first and plan your transport to that exact destination. For an AAE airboat tour, use our separately confirmed meeting point or arrange private pickup; a tour booking is not automatically a park-entry visit.

Choose the destination before you choose the ride

“The Everglades” describes a much larger area than a single arrival point. Decide whether your goal is an airboat outing, a national park visitor center or a longer independent day of sightseeing. Your destination determines the route and the practical return arrangements. A general map search is not a substitute for the address on a booking.

The National Park Service lists separate entrance areas at Homestead, Shark Valley and Everglades City. These entrances are not connected by roads through the park. Use the official directions linked below for a park visit. An AAE reservation does not automatically include national park admission or a visitor-center stop.

Driving from Miami International Airport

If you rent a car at MIA, finish the airport and rental-car arrangements before starting your road itinerary. Put the exact destination into your navigation app and check the route for the time you expect to leave. Choose a route you can follow comfortably and allow for traffic, stops and any onward commitments.

For a standard Airboat Adventures Everglades ride, our meeting address is 5334 FL-90, Miami, FL 33185, unless we confirm otherwise. Free onsite parking is available, and you should arrive 15 minutes early. Do not replace that address with a national park entrance. Specialty experiences may have different instructions.

Uber versus a rental car

An on-demand ride may suit a small group that does not want to rent a vehicle, but check both the outbound and return plan. A price or available driver shown at the airport does not guarantee a driver will be available later at your destination. Discuss the return before relying on an app for a time-sensitive trip.

A rental car gives you control over your departure and return schedule and may suit an itinerary with several stops. Compare the full rental cost, parking arrangements, luggage space and your comfort with driving. The National Park Service specifically warns that visitors using on-demand transport can struggle to obtain a return ride from remote park areas.

AAE airport pickup: a separate transportation service

Our private transportation option is $400 for up to 13 guests, separately from the tour price. It requires at least four people and a tour lasting at least 1.5 hours. Confirm availability and your exact itinerary before booking. The transport vehicle’s capacity does not determine how many guests can use a particular boat arrangement.

See Miami airport pickup details. Send your arrival information, group size, children’s ages, luggage needs and desired return destination. Ask us to confirm where to meet and how the return is arranged. Do not assume the service includes transfers between national park entrances.

Build the price from the tour and transport separately

For four paying guests, a 1.5-hour daytime airboat ride is $470: $350 for the first two guests and $60 for each additional guest. Add the separate $400 transportation charge and that example totals $870. It is not a $400 tour-and-transfer package. Confirm the complete quote for your party and chosen experience.

Standard daytime choices are one hour for $250, 1.5 hours for $350, two hours for $450 or 2.5 hours for $550 for the first two guests. Extra guests are $60 each and children five and under ride free on standard tours. Compare the private airboat tour options and prices; pickup requires the minimum tour length described above.

A premium private Everglades experience

Every tour with us is private. Your group gets its own small airboat and captain, even if there are only two of you, and most of our boats seat 6–7 guests. Your captain comes from our team of USCG-licensed, CPR and first-aid certified local captains, led by owner Captain Greg Mislow. Choose a tour of 1 to 2.5 hours, or, if you have a whole day in Miami, a full-day private airboat tour. Leave room around flights

A tour’s advertised duration is time for the experience, not the full time between leaving and returning to an airport. Account separately for arrival procedures, luggage, ground transport, early check-in and your airline’s requirements. A long layover alone does not establish that a trip will fit.

Send both flight times before reserving around a connection. If your schedule is too tight, plan an outing during a longer Miami stay instead. Full payment is required to book, and cancellation at least 24 hours ahead qualifies for a full refund. Review your confirmed itinerary and the booking terms.

How long is the drive from MIA to your airboat dock?

About 30–45 minutes in normal traffic, usually west on SR-836 (the Dolphin Expressway) and then the Tamiami Trail (FL-90). It can take longer at rush hour, so check your map app for the time you'll actually leave. Collecting bags or a rental car adds time before you even start driving, so build that in too.

What's the nearest international airport to the Everglades?

Miami International Airport (MIA) is the closest major international airport to the Miami side of the Everglades. It's about 30–45 minutes from our dock at 5334 FL-90 in normal traffic, and it's the easiest airport to fly into for a tour with us. Fort Lauderdale (FLL) also works, but the drive is longer. We pick up at both airports for groups of four or more, for $400 round trip.

Is your dock the same as Everglades National Park?

No. Our dock is a private airboat departure point, separate from the national park. The National Park Service has three separate park entrances, at Homestead, Shark Valley and Everglades City, and roads through the park don't connect them. An airboat tour with us doesn't include park admission, so plan a park visit as its own stop.

Should we rent a car or take Uber from MIA?

Rent a car if you want freedom for other stops, like a park entrance or lunch on the way back. Uber works fine for the ride out, but the National Park Service warns that return rides from remote Everglades areas can be hard to get, so plan your ride back first. Groups of four or more can use our private transport instead.

Can we do a tour during a layover at MIA?

Only on a long layover, and only if both flight times really allow it. Add the drive each way, the 15-minute early arrival, the tour itself and your airline's check-in time before your next flight. Send us both flight times and we'll tell you honestly whether it fits. If it's tight, plan the tour for a day you're staying in Miami.
