PLAN YOUR EVERGLADES EXPERIENCE
Day Trip to the Everglades from Miami
Plan a day trip to the Everglades from Miami around one confirmed destination, a private airboat ride and enough time for travel in both directions. A half-day outline can work as a planning framework, but your exact starting point, traffic and chosen tour determine the schedule.

Choose what you want from the day
Start by deciding whether the main event is an airboat ride or a visit to a national park entrance. These are different arrangements. For an Airboat Adventures Everglades sightseeing trip, use the meeting point confirmed with your booking. Use the address in your confirmation.
Our standard airboat meeting address is 5334 FL-90, Miami, FL 33185. A tour reservation does not automatically include park admission or a visitor-center stop. If you want to combine several activities, confirm the location and timing of each one before committing to a schedule.
A sample half-day outline
Before departure: have breakfast, check the weather and route, and gather your booking details. Pack comfortable outdoor clothing, secure footwear, sunscreen and insect repellent. Keep phones and cameras secure. Complimentary water and ear protection are provided for airboat guests; bring any additional personal supplies your party needs.
Travel and arrival: drive or take your confirmed pickup to the airboat meeting point. Allow travel time separately and arrive 15 minutes early. Free onsite parking is available. Use the arrival period to get your group organized and follow the captain’s instructions rather than treating it as extra time on the water.
The main activity: choose a one-, 1.5-, two- or 2.5-hour daytime ride. Your group has a private outing, and the length you select determines the time devoted to the tour. Wildlife sightings and conditions vary; a longer booking does not guarantee a particular animal or photograph.
After the ride: leave room to regroup and travel back before your next commitment. Decide on any meal stop using current opening hours and your return route. This outline intentionally has no fixed hotel-departure or return time; those depend on your origin, road conditions and confirmed tour slot.
Choose a length and budget
Standard daytime pricing for the first two guests is $250 for one hour, $350 for 1.5 hours, $450 for two hours or $550 for 2.5 hours. Additional guests are $60 each, and kids 5 and under ride free on all tours. Compare the tours hub to choose the outing that fits your group.
For example, a 1.5-hour daytime tour for four paying guests is $470. That is the $350 base price plus two additional guests at $60 each. Keep travel costs separate when comparing options. Specialty trips have their own prices and should not be budgeted from the standard daytime table.
Drive yourself or request transportation
If you drive, check a navigation app for your actual starting point and departure time. Miami Airport, downtown hotels and beach hotels are different origins. We have not assigned a single drive time to all of Miami. Use the address in your confirmation and allow for traffic and any stops.
Private transportation is $400 round trip for up to 13 guests, with a minimum of 4 guests and a tour of at least 1.5 hours. See the pickup and directions page.
Keep the itinerary realistic
A half-day framework is easiest to assess when the airboat ride is the main activity. Adding distant stops changes the plan. If you also want to visit Everglades National Park, check the official park directions for the particular entrance and plan that as a separate journey.
Traveling on an arrival or departure day needs extra care. Include baggage collection, rental-car formalities or your airline’s check-in requirements. Send flight times before booking around a connection. A tour duration is not a promise about the total time you will spend away from your hotel or airport.
Morning, sunset or a longer outing
Choose daytime when that fits your schedule and interests. If evening light is your priority, compare our sunset airboat tours and build the outing around the confirmed departure. Sunset changes the shape of the day, so do not reuse a morning return plan.
Tell us about photography interests, children’s ages and any boarding questions when reserving. Bring the essentials in an organized bag and follow your captain’s instructions during the tour. Keeping the schedule flexible around the main experience gives your group time to enjoy the visit without rushing straight to another appointment.
Book your Miami day trip
Once you have chosen a date, guest count and tour length, confirm availability and any transport needs. Full payment is required to book. Cancel 24 hours or more before your tour for a full refund. Read the terms before reserving and keep your confirmation accessible.
Day trip questions
Can we do the Everglades as a half day from Miami?
Yes, easily. From downtown Miami the drive to our dock is about 30–45 minutes, though rush hour can make it longer. Tours can start at any time, so a morning tour of 1.5 to 2 hours has you back by lunch. For example, leave at 8:30am, arrive 15 minutes early for a 9:30am tour, and you're heading home by around 11:30am.
Can we visit Everglades National Park on the same day?
You can, but plan it as a separate stop. Our tour isn't a park visit and doesn't include admission. The park's Shark Valley entrance is about 30 minutes west of our dock on the Tamiami Trail, and the Homestead entrance is to the south. The park entrances aren't connected by roads through the park, so pick one.
Is morning or afternoon better for a day trip?
Morning is usually best for wildlife and cooler air, and it leaves your afternoon free. Afternoon works if you're arriving in Miami that day, though summer afternoons can bring thunderstorms. If you want the evening light, book a sunset tour instead and plan the day around it.
What should a Miami day trip cost for a family of four?
The tour for four paying guests is $370 for 1 hour, $470 for 1.5 hours or $570 for 2 hours. Kids 5 and under are free on all tours. Add fuel or a rideshare, or private transport at $400 round trip for four or more guests on a tour of 1.5 hours or longer, plus lunch. Specialty trips are priced separately.
