Plan your invasive species roundup

A different kind of Florida wildlife outing

Join a guided invasive species roundup with Airboat Adventures Everglades. This experience focuses on searching for invasive species rather than taking a standard wildlife sightseeing tour. Airboat Adventures Everglades roundups include iguanas, Tokay geckos, chameleons and tegus. The species targeted on your trip depend on the location, conditions, and availability discussed before booking.

Tell us what interests your group when you call. We will explain the planned outing, meeting arrangements, and what participation involves. Wildlife encounters and catches vary; no particular species or quantity is guaranteed.

Roundup price and trip planning

The invasive species roundup is priced at $800. Contact us to confirm the trip duration, guest capacity, equipment arrangements, and the final details for your group. Transportation is arranged separately; tell us if you need an airport or hotel pickup so we can confirm whether it works with your outing.

Roundup or Everglades python hunt?

If your main goal is searching for Burmese pythons, choose our Everglades python hunts. Those have road and airboat options with their own prices and trip arrangements. The roundup is a separate experience for visitors interested in other invasive species.

Compare python hunting and invasive-species herping to choose the experience that fits your group’s interests.

What to confirm before departure

  • Your preferred date and total number of guests.
  • The species and area planned for your outing.
  • Departure time, duration, and meeting instructions.
  • What equipment is provided and what personal items to bring.
  • Any participation requirements for your group.

Invasive species roundup questions

What animals do you look for on a roundup?

Invasive reptiles such as iguanas, Tokay geckos, chameleons and tegus. None of them are native to Florida. Which ones you find depends on the area, the season and conditions on your date. It's a herping trip, which means you're searching for reptiles and amphibians rather than sightseeing.

Can we ask for a specific species?

Yes. Tell us what you'd most like to find when you call, whether that's chameleons, tegus or something else, and we'll tell you honestly how realistic it is for your date and pick the best area. Asking for a species doesn't guarantee you'll find it, but it helps us plan.

How is a roundup different from a python hunt?

A roundup, priced at $800, is a broader search for several invasive reptiles. A python hunt focuses only on Burmese pythons, by road from $800 or by airboat from $1,250. Pick the roundup if you like variety and smaller animals, and the python hunt if a big snake is the goal. Compare them →
