When planning an Everglades airboat tour, the calendar is only part of the picture. Ask about conditions for your actual date. Water levels and weather can affect the route and the outing available to your group.

Dry season and wet season: a starting point

The National Park Service describes a generally drier winter and spring, and a wetter period from May through November. The timing varies between years. Summer visitors should plan for heat, humidity and possible thunderstorms; winter visitors can still encounter insects and changing weather. See the NPS seasonal overview and wet-season planning guidance.

These sources describe the wider region and national park. They do not confirm today’s operating conditions for our tours. Contact our team for current availability and meeting details.

Captain Greg’s CBS Miami coverage

CBS Miami interviewed Greg Mislow about local conditions. See its July 2, 2026 drought report and June 21, 2026 wildfire report.

Those reports document past events. They are not a live forecast or a notice that a current trip is cancelled. Our water-levels video also shows conditions at the time it was filmed.

Four questions to ask before reserving

  1. Is my preferred trip available on my date? Give us your date, group size and the experience you want.
  2. What route or departure time is appropriate? Explain whether your priority is sightseeing, photography or a specialized adventure.
  3. What should we bring? Read our packing guide and ask about any group-specific needs.
  4. What happens if conditions change? Review our current booking and cancellation terms before paying.

Set realistic wildlife expectations

NPS notes that animals can spread out as wet-season water levels rise, changing the viewing experience. No season guarantees a particular animal. Tell your captain what you hope to see, while leaving room for the wildlife and scenery encountered that day.
